What I Wore: Happy Orange and Homemade

This was my first time wearing a coat this season!  I love the bright orange and shape of this coat.  I got it at the tail end of last winter so it only got a few good outings before it had to wait for this year in a closet.

This was actually the second dress I made when I started learning how to sew last year. I wore it out only once, but I'm not sure why.  I think I get so sick of my projects by the time they are finished that I banish them into the depths of my closet.  I think it's a cute basic dress that should get a lot more use.  We will see if that happens!

Inspiration: 1920s Photographs

Ever since the Great Gatsby came out I have been going through quite the obsession.  I love flappers!  These photos are my favorite that I have found on Pinterest.

What I Wore: Flapper

My hair is pink again!  I have missed it so much!  I just can't believe I never did an outfit post the first round of pink hair.  Don't worry though, because I have been doing lots of shopping to build a flapper/ great gatsby inspired wardrobe.  I have lots of fun outfit posts to come!

This is also the first hint at what my room now looks at!  You probably noticed my fairly blank walls.  I am going crazy shopping for fun antiques to display!

Fleattitude Vintage Market #2

This was my second flea market and I am hooked for life! It truly is just as much fun selling as it as buying. I have to give a huge Thank you shoutout to my grandma, mom, and sister because I could not do it without them.
The Fleattitude Vintage Market really is incredible everytime you go, with outstanding vendors! I feel so honored to sell with them!  If you haven't been to one yet, make sure you come to the next because it really is just too fun.
Since I sold the best of the best, I plan on finding more gems tomorrow. Wish me luck on the never ending hunt!

Belated Halloween

Happy late Halloween! I had no camera the entire day, so I waited for some friends to post pictures from the day.

This year I dressed up as Max from where the wild things are. I sewed my costume in my three clothing classes because I am always up for a new challenge!

What I Wore: November Weather

Wow- it has been quite some time since I've done an outfit post.  I haven't quite been my usual self lately, and my outfits have reflected that too.  It felt incredible this morning to pull out my fall/winter skirts from my basement and wear one of my signature outfits.  This shirt and skirt combination is one that has been well loved over the last few years. My day was much improved by wearing it again.  It made me feel like my old self!

I also painted my nails which was an old signature that faded away some time ago.  It feels good to be back, even if it's just for a few days!

DIY Badges

I have got some DIYs planned for this month to really make up for my absence!  The first one is on making your own badges.  These will connect with another DIY sometime in the near future, so be sure to make some so you can follow!

Supplies:
  • felt
  • needle
  • embroidery floss
  • safety pin and glue (optional)

After, if you wish, you can hot glue a safety pin to the back of your new badge.  I didn't do so because I am planning on sewing mine onto the next project.
