What I Wore: Happy Orange and Homemade

 This was my first time wearing a coat this season!  I love the bright orange and shape of this coat.  I got it at the tail end of last winter so it only got a few good outings before it had to wait for this year in a closet.

This was actually the second dress I made when I started learning how to sew last year. I wore it out only once, but I'm not sure why.  I think I get so sick of my projects by the time they are finished that I banish them into the depths of my closet.  I think it's a cute basic dress that should get a lot more use.  We will see if that happens!

What I Wore: Flapper

My hair is pink again!  I have missed it so much!  I just can't believe I never did an outfit post the first round of pink hair.  Don't worry though, because I have been doing lots of shopping to build a flapper/ great gatsby inspired wardrobe.  I have lots of fun outfit posts to come!

This is also the first hint at what my room now looks at!  You probably noticed my fairly blank walls.  I am going crazy shopping for fun antiques to display!

What I Wore: November Weather

Wow- it has been quite some time since I've done an outfit post.  I haven't quite been my usual self lately, and my outfits have reflected that too.  It felt incredible this morning to pull out my fall/winter skirts from my basement and wear one of my signature outfits.  This shirt and skirt combination is one that has been well loved over the last few years. My day was much improved by wearing it again.  It made me feel like my old self!

I also painted my nails which was an old signature that faded away some time ago.  It feels good to be back, even if it's just for a few days!

The Last First Day.

It took me a while to get them up, but here are my last-first day of school pictures. SENIOR YEAR!

I have so many mixed thoughts about my last year of high school.  A large part of me is done with high school and just wants to graduate while another part wants to stay in high school art and sewing classes forever.  Since neither are a choice, I'm going to do my best to have a good senior year.

So what am I planning on doing this year?  I am an FCCLA officer for my school, so I am going to plan activities, compete in STAR events again, help everyone else with their competition projects, and wear an awesome jacket!  I am also in yearbook, which means I better go to events so I know what I'm writing about!  And, you know, I took 6 sewing classes.

This estate sale trip was all about the vintage lingerie.   I bought crazy amounts of vintage bras and gurdles with store tags still on them! I dont have a picture of them yet, but tomorrow will bring an overwhelming amount of recently thrifted pictures, I promise!

I also have to leave this picture of me carrying the flour tin and pyrex dish.  It makes me look like an ideal 1950s house wife. Little does my pretend husband know, because I don't cook nor do I clean. I just like looking nice next to the pretty things.

I'm wearing a lot of red lately. I dont know why, but I'm really loving the color right now! 

Today was a fantastic day at work.  Seriously, nearly every single customer that came in complimented my outfit. It makes me think that red lipstick needs to become an everyday accessory!

Holy cow!  It has been an incredibly hot week!  It was the perfect time to pull my hair off of my neck and break in a shirt I sewed a little bit ago, but have only worn once.

What I wore: going to she and him

I'm off to the She and Him concert! Zoe Dechanel is my hero and that I get to see her is an absolute dream come true. I couldn't ask for a better first concert!

time for another change

I am very excited about this change, which is pretty unique. Typically, I dislike the new style or color for a couple days, then love it.  This time it was love at first sight! 

Betty bangs!  These are the first bangs that I have truly loved on my face.  After they were cut, I actually tried to get my mom to shorten them even more, but not this time!  

This is a brand new outfit from that estate sale I truly cannot stop gushing about, sorry for that.  I'm still not over it.  This skort has such a quirky country print, with chickens and a paisley design.  Also, take note of the bowling shoes.  There was a bit of guilt ruining them for every day use, but I figure they'll get more use this way.

This summer I am teaching myself how to knit, which makes me very excited!  The thought of having all of this free time to do whatever I please really does take my stress down a notch.  If I can survive school tomorrow, the summer is basically started.

This dress turned out to not be a fabulously practical one for school.  It's a bit short for sitting and raising hands.  Whoops! But when have I been practical, really?  I also have to apologize for my less than good photos today, again, whoops.
