Another Day, Another Crochet Marathon

I realized that Christmas really is in less than a week today.  And this news sent me in a complete panic.  I have so many things I want to make for people!  Ahh! So just a quickie post today, hello, and goodbye!

What I Wore: Mink!

I am so happy it was finally cold enough for me to wear my vintage mink coat!  It is so nice and comfortable. I don't love the cold, but for December I want it to be super snowy and cold. Just one month for me to get my wear out of super warm clothes for the really cold days!

Unexpected Snow

This morning I did not count on there being snow on the ground, in the air, or on the roads.  Had I known, I would not have worn what I did(or at least wear tights) or drive to school.  But because I was too tired to check the weather I froze and drove with thick snow on the roads for the first time.  It was kind of terrifying.

Needless to say, tomorrow I am taking the bus and wearing a scarf, gloves, and pants.

Weekend Recap

I went to St. George over the weekend with my dad and my sister!  We went for my uncle's wedding, but got a ton of crocheting and drawing done too!
I gave Avery my old knitting looms and I think she is addicted!  She has already made a hat and is halfway done with the scarf she is making above.
On the way to St. George and back, I crocheted a rainbow scarf.  It is going to have clouds on the end, but I am a little discouraged because right now I just made a gay-pride scarf... I like boys!

Avery saw me painting and asked me to teach her how to draw.  I picked out a face in a photo and taught her the techniques to drawing a face.  I think these faces could belong to twins!

And here is my painting so far!  It is due tomorrow so lets see how long I can put off doing it!

Collections: Part One: Vintage Purses

Good morning friends!  Today's is the first of many collection posts I want to share with you:  I collect vintage purses- I love how elegant and dainty they are.  Over the last year I think I have collected quite a few!

What do you think?  Do you collect anything fun?

Photo an Hour: sick day!

I stayed home sick yesterday.  I got tons of crocheting done- that is all I did, actually!  For me, yesterday was a stay in bed, watch seasons of 24, and crochet!

9 am:  I made a bowl of cereal only to find out it was sour milk.  What a wonderful surprise!

I had a hot pocket instead.  You can't go wrong with a hot pocket.

10 am:  I put the strands of yarn in this hat for the mohawk and started my next Christmas gift!  My dear cousin Mckenzie was very clear on what she wanted for Christmas.  A crocheted hat with a mohawk.  I showed her a picture of one and she loved it!  Too bad there wasn't a pattern.  This is just another hat pattern I made up!

11 am:  Still working hard on this hat!

12 pm:  Lunch!

1 pm:  almost done with the hat!  Too bad you don't get so see it finished yet! I don't want a certain person to go on my blog and see her gift!

2 pm:   Next hat!  This one is for myself!  I knew what I wanted but there wasn't  a pattern for it- so I made it up!

 3 pm:  Going strong!

4 pm:   Just about done with orange...

5 pm:  I decided to give it a scalloped edging!

6 pm:  Just for the heck of it, why not add some ears?

 7 pm:   finished!

8 pm:  I packed last minute for my trip to St. George!

There you have it!  A (sick) day in the life of Oakley Seal!
