Estate sale-ing some more

This estate sale trip was all about the vintage lingerie.   I bought crazy amounts of vintage bras and gurdles with store tags still on them! I dont have a picture of them yet, but tomorrow will bring an overwhelming amount of recently thrifted pictures, I promise!

I also have to leave this picture of me carrying the flour tin and pyrex dish.  It makes me look like an ideal 1950s house wife. Little does my pretend husband know, because I don't cook nor do I clean. I just like looking nice next to the pretty things.

What I wore: seeing red

I'm wearing a lot of red lately. I dont know why, but I'm really loving the color right now!
Today was a fantastic day at work.  Seriously, nearly every single customer that came in complimented my outfit. It makes me think that red lipstick needs to become an everyday accessory!

what I wore: red ruffles

Round one of wearing vintage dresses I bought this last weekend!  I love the bright red color of this dress.  The full skirt with ruffles, poofy sleeves, and my platforms pretty much make this a win-win-win outfit.

Holy cow, was it hot today or what?!  I love that it is finally time for summer.  The bright colors, warm weather, and lazy days sewing and sleeping in are so close!  I can only imagine all of the beautiful dresses, shirts, and shorts I will make.  Oh, and garage sale season is starting!  How could someone not love that??

what I wore: blue!

Good afternoon!  I hope everyone had a better valentine's day than me(mine included not getting a val-o-gram at school, and working after school until 9 pm.  At least I had an awesome dress!

what I wore: valentine's day

The big reveal!  I have been aching to wear this dress to school and post about it! This is the dress I sewed for star events(and got silver).

Did I get many stares? Oh yes.  I got many compliments and some not nice looks and laughs as well.  I like to think on the compliments.  Besides, the people that laughed definitely are not ones I want to resemble at all.  My valentine's day outfit was meant to be big and cheesy.  Success!   I made the cherry dress, crocheted an X and O scarf, and paired it with vintage gloves.

Unexpected Snow

This morning I did not count on there being snow on the ground, in the air, or on the roads.  Had I known, I would not have worn what I did(or at least wear tights) or drive to school.  But because I was too tired to check the weather I froze and drove with thick snow on the roads for the first time.  It was kind of terrifying.

Needless to say, tomorrow I am taking the bus and wearing a scarf, gloves, and pants.

Red Lipstick and Reflections

Yesterday I got all dolled up and spent a few hours at the new Traverse Outlets only to come home and sleep.  I hadn't been feeling the greatest the last few days and it only got worse. Hopefully I will start feeling better!

This is one of my favorite dresses!  I found it at an estate sale hidden in the backyard in a box behind an old fishing boat!  There were tons of other dresses that I snagged from the box.  I am so glad no one saw them before me.  A couple of guys who I run into quite often at sales gave me a couple stink eyes when they saw that they walked right past the dresses and I picked them up!
