What I Wore: Happy Orange and Homemade

This was my first time wearing a coat this season!  I love the bright orange and shape of this coat.  I got it at the tail end of last winter so it only got a few good outings before it had to wait for this year in a closet.

This was actually the second dress I made when I started learning how to sew last year. I wore it out only once, but I'm not sure why.  I think I get so sick of my projects by the time they are finished that I banish them into the depths of my closet.  I think it's a cute basic dress that should get a lot more use.  We will see if that happens!

What I Wore: November Weather

Wow- it has been quite some time since I've done an outfit post.  I haven't quite been my usual self lately, and my outfits have reflected that too.  It felt incredible this morning to pull out my fall/winter skirts from my basement and wear one of my signature outfits.  This shirt and skirt combination is one that has been well loved over the last few years. My day was much improved by wearing it again.  It made me feel like my old self!

I also painted my nails which was an old signature that faded away some time ago.  It feels good to be back, even if it's just for a few days!

My Fleattitude booth!

I cannot belive I made such a monumental leap towards my life's dream today. The Fleattitude vintage market was incredible!  It now seems so silly losing two nights of sleep due to worry and nerves.  I sold a fair amount of vintage clothes and accessories (leaving a fair amount to collect more, of course) and met so many wonderful people.  My booth for November has already been reserved!
I really have to give a MASSIVE thank you to my incredible family that helped out. The booth would have been a complete disaster without them.

Estate sale-ing some more

This estate sale trip was all about the vintage lingerie.   I bought crazy amounts of vintage bras and gurdles with store tags still on them! I dont have a picture of them yet, but tomorrow will bring an overwhelming amount of recently thrifted pictures, I promise!

I also have to leave this picture of me carrying the flour tin and pyrex dish.  It makes me look like an ideal 1950s house wife. Little does my pretend husband know, because I don't cook nor do I clean. I just like looking nice next to the pretty things.

recent finds: recognized and liked.

It is an exciting moment when the people that run an estate sale company are as excited to see you as you are to see them.  That was my morning.  There is one particular lady that I just adore.  She is so sweet and makes me feel so awesome for my vintage style!  She gives me very incredible deals too.  But that is because I  am a big spender , which is probably they also get excited to see me. Can I pretend it's for my personality?? I may have cleaned out the closet, much to other ladies despair.

There were a few women I ran into that are running a flea market with vendors selling vintage clothes that made sure to give me their card and invite me multiple times.  People appreciate vintage-loving girls with no other place to spend money.

This is an old dance costume with a skirt that can cover the ruffles.  I love it!

Here is a very wrinkled peach dress from the 1930s.  This poor thing is in desperate need of dry cleaning.

My favorite type of vintage- Formal lace dresses!

Okay, as soon as I slip these beauties onto my feet, they will never come off.

The vintage purses are in such excellent condition, it's hard to believe they're actually vintage!

All of these patterns are incredible.

This is a quilt- all of the single blocks are finished. I just need to sew them all together and finish with backing.
Lots of crochet hooks and knitting needles!

I am going to display this in my bathroom.  I love her face!

Pretty sparkly buttons!

So there are all of the great items I bought(along with a few more dresses that need mending and vintage fabric!)

what I wore: banjo playin'

Along with sewing, crocheting, and knitting, I am also expanding my talents this summer by mastering the banjo.  I've been taking lessons off and on for a while now.  Today is the first day I have been able to successfully play a song all the way through(pretty exciting stuff for me)!

I feel like the picture above describes my personality perfectly.  I also think my bangs go with banjos.
