free slouchy hat pattern

 Using a J hook:  

Chain 4, sl stitch to form ring.

Round 1:   ch 2, hdc 9 in center of ring, sl stitch together

Round 2:   ch 2, hdc in same stitch, hdc 2 in each st, sl stitch together

Round 3:   ch 2, hdc in each st, sl stitch together

Round 4:   ch 2, hdc in same stitch, 2 hdc in each st, sl stitch together

Round 5:   ch 2, hdc in each stitch, Sl stitch together

Round 6:   ch 2, *2 hdc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, repeat from *. sl stitch together

Round 7-12:   ch 2, hdc in each stitch around. Sl stitch together

Round 13:  ch 2, hdc in next stitche, *2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 2 stitches, repeat from *. sl stitch together

Round 14- 19:   ch 2, hdc in each stitch, sl stitch together

Round 20:   ch 2, hdc in next 4 stitches, *hdctog in next stitch, hdc in next 5 stitches, repeat from *, sl stitch together

Round 21:   ch 2, hdc in next 2 stitches, *hdctog in next stitch, hdc in next 3 stitches, repeat from *, sl stitch together

Round 22:   ch 1, sc in each stitch, sl stitch together

Round 23-28:   ch 2, hdcbp in next stitch, hdcfp in next stitch, Repeat from *, sl stitch together. fasten off.

If you want to switch colors like I did, change colors after rows 5, 6, 7,11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 21, and 23.
